Modular Solid Wood Shelving Systems

Studio Hausen develops furniture designed for changing living environments. As spaces evolve — through moving, new ways of working or changing family situations — the shelving systems remain flexible. The LINK shelving system breaks away from conventional rigid grid structures and enables individual compositions.

Crafted from 100% solid wood, the surfaces develop more character over time. Natural grain patterns, knots and colour variations make each shelf unique. Sustainability is not treated as an additional feature, but as the foundation of the material selection, construction and overall design ap

Imperfection as Part of the Material

In the REFURBISHED section, Studio Hausen offers shelving systems with small visual characteristics. These may include showroom pieces with minor signs of use, natural wood features such as sapwood or small knots, or slight colour variations.

Functionality, stability and load-bearing capacity remain completely unchanged. Every shelf offers the same practical value as a regular model — only with visible characteristics resulting from the material itself or previous presentation use.

This creates a conscious alternative for people who appreciate high-quality design and view natural characteristics not as flaws, but as part of the material’s authenticity.

Details

What does sustainability mean to Studio Hausen?

Sustainability is defined through timeless design, durable materials and repairability. The shelving systems are made from solid wood, FSC-certified and manufactured in Europe.

What makes Studio Hausen special?

The LINK shelving system breaks away from the traditional ladder shelf structure and enables open, individual compositions. Since its introduction in 2014, it has become an independent modular system within wall shelving.

What are REFURBISHED products?

REFURBISHED shelves may feature small visual characteristics such as fine lacquer scratches, knots under 2 cm or natural colour variations. Functionality remains fully intact; in most cases, these characteristics appear only on one side.

Can the shelving systems be repaired?

Yes. Minor lacquer scratches can be treated with wood wax polish, while smaller imperfections can be repaired using colour-matched wax. Solid wood makes restoration easier and more durable.

Where are the products manufactured?

All products are manufactured in Europe using high-quality, responsibly sourced materials.
