At Rahmlow, the construction dictates the form, not the other way around.

Characteristic of the R2 dining table is the openly visible steel construction in combination with glass: three identical steel tubes converge at a single point and support the tabletop. This construction principle dates back to the 1980s, gained attention in the trade press at the time, and is still produced unchanged in the Rahmlow Classic series today.

In cooperation with the metal manufactory Edgar Rahmlow, which draws on over 35 years of experience, Rahmlow reconstructs designs from the company's history based on old sketches and translates them into modern times. Continued by the second generation, this has evolved into a community of craftsmanship, design studios, and small businesses, which also produces new products like the Friends series.

What is the difference between Rahmlow Classic and Rahmlow Neo?

Classic products such as the R2 dining table or the Varius desk are re-editions of historical designs. Neo products such as the JAK wall-mounted coat rack or the table tops are more recent additions to the collection.

Rahmlow is a family business based in Cologne, founded in Wolfenbüttel in 1984 by Rolf Rahmlow and re-established in 2017. Furniture made of steel and glass is created in cooperation with traditional German companies such as the metal manufacturer Edgar Rahmlow. Over 35 years after the first edition, the Classic series brings back historical designs such as the R2 dining table or the Varius desk based on old sketches, while the Neo series adds new pieces such as the JAK wall-mounted coat rack. Selected products from partner design studios are added under the name Friends. In 1987, the Statera lamp was awarded design prizes by Haus Industrie Form Essen and the Design Center Stuttgart.
